Jaipur, Rajasthan | November 6, 2026

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, has made an electoral entry into Rajasthan's local body politics by winning two seats in the 2026 municipal elections.

The party secured victories in Jaipur and Jhunjhunu, marking an important development for its political presence in the state.

In Jaipur, AIMIM candidate Firoz Bano won Ward 146 in the Bhatta Basti area. Reports said she secured victory by a margin of 1,975 votes.

The party also won a seat in Jhunjhunu, taking its total tally to two councillor seats in the reported election results.

AIMIM-RLP Alliance in Rajasthan

AIMIM contested the local body elections in an understanding with the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), led by Hanuman Beniwal.

Under the reported arrangement, AIMIM fielded candidates in five wards and won two of them.

The alliance brought together the parties' respective political support bases and sought to present an alternative to the BJP and Congress in the state's local elections.

Political Significance of the Results

The victories have given AIMIM an electoral presence in Rajasthan's municipal politics. The results also provide the party with an opportunity to strengthen its organisation and connect with voters in other parts of the state.

Party supporters have welcomed the victories as an encouraging development. However, the results represent two local ward victories and should not be described as a statewide electoral sweep.

A Note on Claims of Hindu-Muslim Celebrations

Social media posts have circulated claims suggesting that members of Hindu and Muslim communities celebrated together following AIMIM's victories.

However, the specific video or event supporting this claim has not been independently verified. The location, date and participants would need confirmation before such scenes can be reported as a factual account of the election celebrations.

News National Perspective

AIMIM's two victories in Rajasthan's 2026 municipal elections mark a new chapter in the party's local political presence in the state.

The results highlight the changing dynamics of local electoral competition. Further developments will depend on the party's organisational activities and its performance in future elections.

News National will continue to follow political developments in Rajasthan.
