The MSME Ministry and Samsung India sign an MoU to provide electronics training and improve employment opportunities at 15 Technology Centres.

Training programmes to be introduced at 15 MSME Technology Centres across India

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen industry-oriented skill development and expand employment and self-employment opportunities for young people.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME. The collaboration will be implemented at 15 MSME Technology Centres across the country.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the skills available among young people by providing specialised training in electronics and related technical fields.

Training in electronics and mobile phone servicing

Under the MoU, NSQF-compliant training programmes will be conducted in areas including electronics, mobile phones, home appliances, installation, servicing and repair.

The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) provides a structured approach to vocational education and training, helping align qualifications with the skills and competencies required by industry.

The programmes will be delivered through state-of-the-art training facilities established at the identified MSME Technology Centres.

The training is expected to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills that can help them pursue employment in the electronics and consumer appliances sectors or establish their own service-based businesses.

Samsung to provide technical support

Samsung India will support the implementation of the programmes by providing specialised training, technical assistance and continuous guidance.

The company will also conduct Training of Trainers programmes to strengthen the capabilities of instructors at the Technology Centres.

This approach is intended to improve the quality and consistency of training delivery and ensure that participants receive instruction aligned with industry practices.

Continuous handholding by Samsung will further support the Technology Centres in delivering the programmes effectively.

Focus on employment and self-employment

The partnership is designed to create a stronger connection between skill development institutions and the needs of the electronics industry.

With training covering installation, servicing and repair, participants may gain skills relevant to technical jobs as well as self-employment opportunities in equipment maintenance and customer service.

The collaboration also reflects the importance of industry participation in vocational training, particularly in sectors where practical knowledge and technical expertise are essential.

Strengthening India's skilled workforce

The implementation of the MoU at 15 MSME Technology Centres is expected to expand access to industry-oriented training facilities across the country.

By combining the Ministry's training infrastructure with Samsung's technical expertise, the initiative seeks to develop a workforce equipped for opportunities in electronics and related industries.

The Ministry of MSME and Samsung India will work together to support training delivery, instructor development and technical guidance under the collaboration.

Further details, including the names of the participating Technology Centres, training schedules, eligibility criteria and enrolment procedures, have not been specified in the information provided.
