Italjet will enter India with three Dragster scooters through Motohaus. Explore specifications, expected launch dates and delivery timeline.

Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Italjet is preparing to enter the Indian market through Motohaus India, bringing three distinctive performance-oriented scooters. The models are expected to make their India debut in December 2026, with customer deliveries anticipated from the second quarter of 2027.

India's premium two-wheeler market is set to welcome an unusual new competitor as Italian manufacturer Italjet prepares to introduce its distinctive Dragster scooter range. Known for its unconventional styling, exposed frame design and performance-focused engineering, the company is entering India through a strategic partnership with Kolhapur-based Motohaus India.

The company has revealed plans to introduce three models in the country: the Italjet Dragster 300, Dragster 459 and flagship Dragster 700.

The India-bound models were showcased at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. Their official Indian debut is scheduled for December 4 and 5, 2026, during India Bike Week.

Three Models Planned for India

The upcoming lineup will cover different performance categories.

Italjet Dragster 300: The entry-level model in the planned Indian lineup features a 278cc liquid-cooled engine producing approximately 23.8 hp and 26 Nm of torque. It comes with distinctive front suspension engineering, Brembo braking components and dual-channel ABS.

Italjet Dragster 459: Positioned above the 300, this model uses a 449cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing approximately 47.58 hp and 41 Nm of torque. Its equipment includes Marzocchi suspension, Pirelli tyres, Brembo brakes and traction control.

Italjet Dragster 700: The flagship model features a 698cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine producing approximately 70 hp and 70 Nm of torque. It also gets a six-speed gearbox, an exposed tubular steel trellis frame and premium braking and suspension equipment.

All three models are expected to feature full LED lighting and TFT instrument displays.

Local Assembly in India

An important part of Italjet's India strategy is local assembly. Motohaus India plans to assemble the scooters at its manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, using the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.

Motohaus already distributes international two-wheeler brands such as Brixton Motorcycles and VLF (Velocifero) in India. The addition of Italjet will expand its presence in the premium two-wheeler segment.

The company is also expected to develop dedicated Italjet retail and experience facilities to support sales and after-sales services.

When Will Italjet Scooters Be Available in India?

The official India debut is planned for December 4–5, 2026, at India Bike Week.

Interested customers are expected to get an opportunity to register their interest through the company's India waitlist in December 2026.

Customer deliveries are currently expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027.

However, India-specific prices, final specifications, booking conditions and detailed availability information have not yet been officially announced.

A New Option in India's Premium Two-Wheeler Market

Italjet's entry could attract buyers looking for something different from conventional scooters and motorcycles. Its unusual styling, performance-oriented engines and premium components make the Dragster range stand out.

However, its market success will depend on pricing, dealership availability, service infrastructure and spare-parts support.

For Indian customers, the biggest question remains how competitively Motohaus will price these Italian machines.

More details are expected as the company approaches its official India debut.
