The 19-year-old Indian athlete first partnered with Toman Kumar to win gold in the compound mixed team event before returning to the archery range to secure another gold in the women's individual compound final.

Her remarkable performance at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games has brought international attention to India's achievements in para sports.

Born without arms, Sheetal competes using an extraordinary archery technique in which she holds and operates her bow with her feet and legs, drawing and releasing the bowstring with the help of her shoulder and jaw.

Sheetal began her golden day by teaming up with fellow Indian archer Toman Kumar in the compound mixed team final.

The Indian pair faced Indonesia's Teodora Audi Audiya Ferelly and Ken Swagumilang in the gold medal match.

India secured victory with a score of 151–148, maintaining its advantage through the contest to claim the championship.

The victory also marked the successful defence of the mixed team title that Sheetal had previously won at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games alongside Rakesh Kumar.
