India and Singapore have taken another step towards strengthening cybersecurity cooperation through an agreement between their national cyber incident response teams, announced on October 14, 2026.

Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency (CSA) said the memorandum of understanding between Singapore’s Cyber Emergency Response Team (SingCERT) and India’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is intended to improve cyber resilience through information sharing, coordinated incident response and technical cooperation.

The agreement also provides for exchanging cybersecurity strategies, sharing best practices and building technical capabilities. A joint Singapore–India Expert Group will oversee implementation and identify areas for further cooperation.

The partnership is important as cyber threats increasingly affect government services, businesses, financial institutions and digital infrastructure across national borders. Sharing threat information and coordinating responses can help authorities identify emerging risks and respond more effectively to incidents.

However, the agreement itself does not mean that cyberattacks will automatically be prevented. Its impact will depend on how both sides implement the arrangements, exchange relevant information and coordinate practical responses.

The announcement was made during Singapore International Cyber Week 2026. It reflects continued cooperation between the two countries on protecting digital systems and strengthening their ability to respond to cybersecurity incidents.
