Honda Shine and SP125 led India's 125cc motorcycle segment in July 2026 with 1,76,756 units, as total sales rose 16.89% YoY to 2,82,726 units.

Honda dominated India's 125cc motorcycle segment in July 2026, selling 1,80,615 units and capturing a 63.88% market share. The company's Shine and SP125 range alone accounted for 1,76,756 units, cementing its lead over every rival in the category.

Total 125cc motorcycle sales reached 2,82,726 units during the month, up 16.89% from 2,41,864 units in July 2025 - an increase of 40,862 units. Sales also rose 6.73% over June 2026, when the segment recorded 2,64,897 units. Honda's performance was the main driver behind that growth, with the maker adding 24,142 units year-on-year, a rise of 15.43%.

The Honda Shine and SP125 combined sales climbed 27.47% year-on-year from 1,38,665 units and jumped 15.97% over June's 1,52,415 units. No other model came close.

TVS Raider and the Splendor Surge

TVS Raider took a distant second place with 34,125 units and a 12.07% segment share. Sales dipped 7.73% from June's 36,983 units, but the model posted strong 39.22% year-on-year growth against 24,511 units a year earlier.

Hero's Splendor 125 was another standout. Sales rose to 17,999 units, a 44.13% jump from 12,488 units in July 2025 and an 11.32% improvement over June's 16,168 units. The Hero Glamour followed with 12,995 units, registering 21.49% year-on-year growth even as volumes slipped 7.36% from June. Hero recently launched the Glamour with ABS.

Pulsar 125 Falls 38%

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 and NS125 together sold 25,604 units to finish third, down 2.60% from June's 26,288 units. The sharper drop came year-on-year: sales fell 38.01%, a decline of 15,702 units from 41,306 units in July 2025. Bajaj has updated the Pulsar 125, a move it expects will lift sales in the months ahead.

The Hero Xtreme 125R recorded 9,696 units, down 21.09% year-on-year and 26.66% from June, when it sold 13,220 units - a sequential fall of 3,524 units. The Honda Hornet 125 added 3,859 units, 4.90% below the 4,058 units logged in June; with no sales in July 2025, a year-on-year comparison does not apply. The Bajaj Freedom managed 1,692 units, down 11.37% year-on-year and 2.59% month-on-month. KTM recorded no sales during the month.

Hero and TVS Trail Behind

Among manufacturers, Hero ranked second with 40,690 units and a 14.39% share, followed by TVS with 34,125 units and 12.07%. Both slipped from the previous month, with Hero down 6.28% and TVS down 7.73%. Bajaj and KTM combined for 27,296 units, a 9.65% share, marking a 2.60% decline.

Honda's Shine and SP125 range continues to set the pace for the segment, and with Bajaj refreshing the Pulsar 125 and Hero adding ABS to the Glamour, competition in the category is set to sharpen through the rest of the year.
