Five Palestinians, including two Christian women, reportedly killed in Gaza airstrikes as humanitarian concerns and ceasefire tensions continue.

Gaza City: Israeli airstrikes have reportedly killed five Palestinians, including two women from Gaza's Christian community, according to medical officials at Shifa Hospital.

The strikes caused extensive damage to a multistorey building, with reports of people missing beneath the debris. Emergency teams and medical personnel have been dealing with the aftermath.

The deaths have renewed concerns about civilian protection and the continuing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire agreement reached nearly a year ago. Israeli officials have maintained that military operations target militant threats and violations of the ceasefire.

The latest incident underscores the continuing challenges facing efforts to maintain a lasting cessation of hostilities.
