Apple Launches 14-Inch MacBook Pro With M6 Chip in India; Price Starts at ₹2,39,900

NEW DELHI, October 28, 2026: Apple has introduced its new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip, with prices in India starting at ₹2,39,900. The updated laptop focuses on computing performance, on-device artificial intelligence, wireless connectivity and battery life.

Apple announced the laptop on October 27, with pre-orders beginning on October 28. According to the company's official announcement, deliveries and retail availability are scheduled to begin on November 6, 2026.

The launch targets developers, students, business professionals and creative users who need a portable computer capable of handling demanding workloads.

M6 chip brings CPU, GPU and AI improvements

The new MacBook Pro features a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. Apple says the CPU and graphics architecture deliver improvements over the previous-generation M5 model.

According to Apple's published performance figures, the M6 offers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster performance for certain on-device AI workloads compared with the specified M5 configuration.

The chip also includes a dual 16-core Neural Engine, designed to accelerate supported machine-learning tasks.

These capabilities could benefit users working with video editing, 3D modelling, image processing, software development and locally executed AI applications.

However, actual performance depends on the software being used, memory configuration, workload and thermal conditions. Apple's performance figures are manufacturer claims based on its own testing.

Designed for on-device AI

One of the key features of the new laptop is its focus on running AI workloads directly on the device.

On-device processing can allow compatible applications to handle certain tasks without sending all input data to remote servers. This may improve responsiveness and offer privacy advantages for some workflows.

Apple's announcement also highlights Neural Accelerators in the GPU and a dedicated Neural Engine for supported AI features.

The usefulness of these capabilities will depend on application compatibility and the AI models being used. Cloud-based services may still be required for some advanced functions.

Display, connectivity and battery life

The 14-inch MacBook Pro features a Liquid Retina XDR display with a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits. Apple also offers a nano-texture display option intended to reduce reflections.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The laptop provides three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, MagSafe 3 charging, an SDXC card slot and a headphone jack.

Apple claims battery life of up to 24 hours, although actual runtime varies according to brightness, applications, wireless activity and workload.

Other features include a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, a six-speaker audio system and support for up to two external displays.

Price and availability in India

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at ₹2,39,900 in India. Apple lists an education price of ₹2,27,900 for eligible buyers.

Pre-orders begin on October 28, while the company has scheduled retail availability from November 6.

Customers should confirm configuration-specific pricing, memory and storage options, delivery dates and education eligibility through Apple's official Indian store.

What the launch means for buyers

The M6-powered MacBook Pro is positioned as a high-performance laptop rather than a budget device. Its appeal will depend on whether buyers need its computing power, display quality and specialised software support.

For users upgrading from older Intel-based Macs or early Apple silicon models, the combination of performance improvements, connectivity and battery life may be attractive.

Owners of recent MacBook Pro models should compare the actual performance gains against the purchase cost before upgrading.
