    West Bengal Polls: Political Heat Rises In Kharagpur As BJP And TMC Lock Horns

    Campaigning has intensified in the Kharagpur Sadar Assembly constituency in West Midnapore district of West Bengal. The main contest here is expected to be between Pradeep Sarkar of the Trinamool Congress and Dilip Ghosh of the BJP. Sarkar had won this seat in a 2019 by-election, which was held after Ghosh vacated it following his election as a Member of Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, Sarkar lost the seat in the 2021 Assembly elections to BJP candidate Hiranmoy Chatterjee. Now, Sarkar is confident of reclaiming the seat. With the BJP fielding Ghosh again, Sarkar is campaigning by portraying him as an outsider.
