War Update: Iran Announces New Supreme Leader as War Enters Day 10

On the 10th day of the ongoing conflict, Iran has officially announced Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new Supreme Leader, succeeding Ali Khamenei. The announcement ends days of speculation about who would take over Iran’s highest leadership position. Following the decision, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said the leadership change marks the beginning of a new era of national unity and strength for the Islamic Republic. He described the selection as a reflection of Iran’s collective will and determination during a critical moment for the country. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also released a statement supporting the new leader. The military force pledged full loyalty to Mojtaba Khamenei and said it is ready to make any sacrifice necessary to defend the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, tensions with Israel have intensified. Israel’s parliament speaker Amir Ohana posted a warning on social media, threatening that Mojtaba Khamenei could face the same fate as his predecessor. Soon after the announcement, Iran escalated its attacks, reportedly launching three missiles toward Israel within 30 minutes, highlighting the continuing cycle of retaliation in the widening Middle East conflict.
