TTD Serves More Than 9 Crore Annaprasadam Servings in Nine Months

By News National Editorial Team

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has provided more than 9 crore, or 90 million, Annaprasadam servings to pilgrims during the first nine months of 2026.

The figure covers the period from January through September 2026 and highlights the enormous scale of the free-food programme at Tirumala.

Nearly two lakh meals a day

The Annaprasadam system currently averages about 1.8 lakh meals a day, while the number can rise above three lakh servings during major festival and pilgrimage rushes.

The programme operates through multiple kitchens and distribution points covering dining halls, accommodation areas and waiting facilities.

TTD's official news platform also published the milestone of 90 million servings in nine months.

Large-scale food operation

The system consumes substantial quantities of rice, pulses, oil, wheat and other ingredients every day.

Food is distributed not only in designated dining halls but also to pilgrims waiting in queue complexes and other areas.

TTD is also working on further modernisation, including an automated kitchen designed to prepare up to two lakh meals a day.

The Annaprasadam programme, which began in 1985 with a much smaller daily capacity, has grown into a major continuous food-distribution operation serving pilgrims visiting Tirumala.
