    US President Donald Trump, speaking during a White House meeting with oil executives on Venezuela, again claimed he stopped a looming India–Pakistan war, saying “eight planes were shot down” before he intervened. He argued that his role in resolving multiple conflicts, including between the nuclear-armed neighbours, made him deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize, repeating assertions he has made in earlier interviews.
