Frequent sirens force residents and workers to rush into fortified safety rooms known as Mamad, built inside homes and commercial buildings. These reinforced shelters have heavy blast doors and air-filtration systems that provide oxygen and ventilation during emergencies. An Indian resident explained that while daily life is impacted, Israel's strong safety infrastructure helps people feel relatively secure during missile alerts.
