Breaking news: The Washington Post Claims Saudi Crown Prince Backed Strike on Iran

A major report by The Washington Post has claimed that the Saudi Crown Prince played a crucial role in encouraging a U.S. strike on Iran. According to the publication, the Crown Prince made several private phone calls to former U.S. President Donald Trump, advocating for strong American action against Iran. The report further alleges that coordinated Saudi and Israeli lobbying efforts supported Washington’s decision. Strategic affairs expert S. G. Muni stated that these claims are not surprising. He explained that U.S. allies in West Asia have historically cooperated to contain Iran’s regional ambitions. The presence of American military bases in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar — and Iran’s attacks on them — highlight existing polarization. Muni emphasized that the conflict is not merely about Shia-Sunni divisions but about preventing Iran from expanding its strategic dominance. Regional powers, including Saudi Arabia and countries softening toward Israel, share the objective of limiting Iran’s rise, making the development part of a broader geopolitical struggle rather than a shocking revelation.
