Breaking News: Iranian Media Confirms Khamenei’s Death, 40 Days of State Mourning Declared

In a major development, Iranian state media has officially confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following Israeli airstrikes on Tehran. State broadcaster Press TV announced the confirmation and declared 40 days of national mourning across Iran. Khamenei, who had led Iran for over three decades, was reportedly killed at his official residence in central Tehran after heavy bombardment involving bunker-buster munitions. Iranian authorities stated that he died at home and described his death as “martyrdom.” Reports also claim that three of his family members — his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter — were killed in the same strike. Earlier, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had publicly claimed responsibility for the operation, asserting that the objective was to eliminate Iran’s top leadership. Meanwhile, tensions continue to escalate. Reports suggest Iranian missile strikes targeted US-linked sites in Dubai, with visuals showing smoke and fire near key locations. Military analysts now warn that with senior IRGC commanders reportedly killed and strategic facilities damaged, Iran faces a critical moment that could determine whether the conflict expands further or moves toward de-escalation.
