    Afghanistan has been struck by two earthquakes, a 4.8-magnitude tremor following a 4.3-magnitude quake, exacerbating an already dire situation. The quakes, coupled with flash floods and harsh weather, have devastated communities, particularly in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, where over 1400 lives were lost.
