Amaravati Outer Ring Road: NHAI Floats ₹8,668 Crore Bids for Three Sections

AMARAVATI: The proposed Amaravati Outer Ring Road project has moved forward with the National Highways Authority of India inviting bids for three sections of the planned six-lane corridor.

The three packages together carry an estimated value of around ₹8,668 crore, marking a significant step in the development of road infrastructure around Andhra Pradesh's capital region.

The Outer Ring Road is intended to improve connectivity between Amaravati and important urban and economic centres including Vijayawada, Guntur and Tenali.

The project is expected to provide an alternative route for long-distance traffic and reduce pressure on existing roads passing through densely populated areas.

Improved highway connectivity could also support movement of goods between industrial zones, logistics centres and markets across the region.

For Amaravati, the road network is particularly important as the capital-region infrastructure develops. Better connectivity can influence the location of businesses, residential projects and supporting services.

The three bid packages represent part of the larger highway plan, with subsequent construction and implementation dependent on the completion of tendering, approvals, land-related processes and other project requirements.

The project will be closely watched by residents, businesses and transport operators because of its potential impact on travel times and regional connectivity.
