Oasis, Charli XCX Lead Abbey Road Photo Awards Shortlist

The 2026 Abbey Road Music Photography Awards named 40 finalists from 24,500 entries, featuring Oasis, Charli XCX and Kendrick Lamar. Winners revealed 24 September.

The past year in live music has been distilled into 40 photographs. Here is what made the 2026 Abbey Road Music Photography Awards shortlist.

A Record Field Of Entries

Organisers sifted through more than 24,500 submissions sent in from 42 countries before landing on 40 finalists. Those images span eight categories, and the shortlist was unveiled on Tuesday. The prize, hosted by Abbey Road, has now been running for five years and reached this milestone volume of entries.

Liam Gallagher Meets Wembley

Lewis Evans earned a live music nomination for his frame of Liam Gallagher turned toward a wall of Oasis fans at Wembley Stadium. The shot, tambourine in hand, is one of several Oasis reunion moments to make the cut, underlining how central the band's comeback run proved to this year's selection.

Charli XCX Torches The Flag

Jack Oliver captured Charli XCX setting the Brat flag alight at Glastonbury Festival, a deliberate gesture marking the close of that chapter. The photograph is a contender for best music moment, one of five pieces heading into the fan-voted music moment of the year prize decided by public ballot.

One Fan In Buenos Aires

Joshua Halling's music moment of the year entry isolates a solitary Oasis supporter caught in the churning crowd at River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The scene comes from the band's 2025 comeback tour, trading the spectacle of the stage for the swirling energy of the people watching it.

Brothers Share A Silent Beat

Harriet Bols photographed Liam and Noel Gallagher together on stage but away from the microphones, an unguarded exchange during the penultimate Wembley Stadium date of their 2025 comeback run. Filed under music moment, the image freezes a quiet pause between two performers in the middle of a reunion the world was watching.

Kendrick Lamar Owns The Super Bowl

Jenn Devereaux's music moment nominee places Kendrick Lamar dead centre of the Super Bowl halftime show. Around him, dancers dressed in red, white and blue arrange themselves into the shape of the US flag, a piece of staging the photographer frames as a single commanding tableau.

Studios, Grills And A White Horse

Three finalists look beyond the arena. Lewis Evans shot New York band Geese emptying their studio in the behind-the-scenes category. Daniel Rojos delivered a fisheye portrait of The OGM of HO99O9 grinning behind a custom grill. Frances Carter photographed Yorkshire's Billie Marten astride a white horse in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Exhibition, Punk And The Ceremony

All 40 finalists appear in the LED tunnel at Outernet London from 8 to 14 September, with winners named at Abbey Road on 24 September. Head judge Rankin called 2026 "the strongest year yet." A guest category marks 50 years of punk, and the panel includes Nile Rodgers and Raye.
