Jammu and Kashmir government employees prepare for the annual Darbar Move, with offices expected to resume in Jammu on November 2.

SRINAGAR, October 20: Government employees in Jammu and Kashmir are preparing for the annual Darbar Move, under which administrative offices shift from Srinagar to Jammu for the winter season.

According to The Indian Express, employees are expected to conclude their work in Srinagar on October 30 and 31, with offices scheduled to resume operations in Jammu from November 2.

The Darbar Move is a long-standing administrative practice associated with the seasonal functioning of the Union Territory. It involves the relocation of personnel and office operations between Srinagar, the summer capital, and Jammu, the winter capital.

The transition requires coordination among government departments and employees, as well as arrangements for moving official records and maintaining administrative services during the changeover.

For residents and people visiting government offices, the shift may affect where certain administrative services are available. Citizens should check with the relevant department before travelling for official work during the transition period.

The dates and arrangements cited here are based on the published report. Any subsequent changes should be confirmed through official Jammu and Kashmir government notifications.
